Opportunity:

Occupational Therapist - Outpatient

Job Details:

* Provide occupational therapy services to outpatient populations including assessment, treatment, and care
* Lead and grow a robust elbow/wrist/hand program with strong referral support from local providers
* Receive mentorship from a current provider with over 25 years of experience in developing hand therapy programs
* Obtain thorough patient medical and social history and current status information
* Evaluate patients as directed by ordering physicians and develop individualized patient care plans
* Administer therapeutic treatments utilizing physical agents, biomechanical and neurophysiological principles, and assistive devices
* Re-evaluate and assess patient status and initiate changes in treatment programs as needed
* Document all pertinent patient information using electronic medical records following direct patient care
* Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and procedures
* Complete billing procedures for services provided on a daily basis
* Utilize techniques such as heat, electricity, water, massage, and exercise
* Prepare evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries
* Provide direction to assisting support staff for occupational therapy patient care
* Monitor safety and effectiveness of all patient care equipment and the work environment
* Must be able to evaluate and provide care across the age continuum including school-age, young, middle-aged adults, and geriatric patients
* Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association preferred
* Advanced degree or training preferred
* Active or eligible to obtain Washington State Occupational Therapist license required
* One year of outpatient care experience preferred
* Hand therapy and splinting experience preferred
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider level certification required within 3 months of hire
* Up to 24 hours of call off available to the facility at no cost during the course of the assignment
