Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

Opportunity:

RN - MS/Tele (ACE Unit - Acute Care for the Elderly)

Job Details:

* Contract options of 13 or 26 weeks available
* Every other weekend requirement
* 1 year of experience required
* 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* 26-bed unit providing telemetry-capable care for patients aged 65 and older
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census; floating limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Active SC or multistate license required no pending licenses accepted
* Required clinical skills include: MS/Tele experience, IV starts, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, heparin protocols, and geriatric-focused care
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* All pre-approved time off requests must be submitted with application and are subject to facility approval at time of booking
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* First-time travelers accepted

Facility:

This facility is a regional teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 641 licensed beds. The hospital offers advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services. The Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit is a newly renovated 26-bed unit staffed by specially trained Geriatric Resource Nurses and a multidisciplinary team focused on mobility, recovery, and reducing length of stay for patients aged 65 and older.
