Job Details:

* Self-scheduled shifts with a fast-paced working environment
* Day and night shifts with a patient ratio of 1:4; weekend ratio of 1:5
* 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* No on-call required
* Position may float between units and/or sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* At least 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system experience required; EPIC electronic health record system in use
* Required skills include: telemetry/remote monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, peripheral line care/management, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Neuro-specific skills required include: CVA, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy, aneurysms and repair, pre/post neurosurgery, post TPA care, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal
* Special equipment used includes Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Most admissions come from the ED, ICU, or PACU
* Unit includes an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with 4 designated beds for continuous EEG monitoring
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN): solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire; print tops are not acceptable
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lots designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility features 379 staffed beds and operates as a Level II Trauma Center, providing a high level of specialized care across a range of medical disciplines. The facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center with a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and supports complex neurosurgical patients with diverse neurological pathologies. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams, all working collaboratively to achieve the best patient outcomes.
