Job Details:

* 6-week contract position
* 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
* Every 4th weekend required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed
* Billable overtime applies between 36-40 hours per week
* Float across all campuses as required
* Minimum 36 months of emergency medicine experience in an Emergency Department or Emergency Room required
* First-time travelers accepted with minimum 36 months of ED experience
* Experience caring for pediatric and adult patients required
* Experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred
* Experience with drips including sedation and vasoactive drips required
* Experience reading, measuring, and interpreting telemetry strips required
* Active TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency Course) required
* EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
* Level I trauma experience preferred
* Level II trauma experience required
* Patient ratio of 4:1
* Patient types include behavioral health, pediatric, and adult patients
* Navy blue solid scrubs required
* Required certifications: TNCC, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
* Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
* Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department discipline required
* Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
* Valid driver's license required

Facility:

This healthcare organization operates a multi-campus health system featuring an 18-bed emergency department unit. The facility is a Level II trauma center with Level I trauma capabilities and provides comprehensive emergency services for behavioral health, pediatric, and adult patient populations. The organization utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system and maintains high standards of patient care across all of its campuses.
