Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available on days (7:00 AM) and nights (7:00 PM); must be dressed, ready, and obtain report at shift start
* Must complete 3 weekend shifts within every 4-week scheduled period
* Holiday shifts required on a varying schedule
* Unit handles an average of 200-240 births per month with 9 beds plus 7 triage beds
* Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines; 1:2 ratio for magnesium patients
* Must be able to circulate C-sections
* Strong IV skills required as nurses are responsible for all IV placements
* Must be comfortable using evidence-based algorithms and will meet with perinatal safety officer
* Must adhere to baby friendly and golden hour rules
* Hourly rounds, bedside report, and documentation required
* Floating to postpartum may be required
* Floor-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts on the unit
* EMR system: Cerner, Fetal Link, and McRoberts MyChild for infant charting
* OB and labor hospitalist in house 24/7; anesthesia on call 24/7
* RT and pharmacy available 24/7
* Charge nurse present each shift; OB techs available as nurse aides
* Call shifts are not required but may be available as an opportunity
* Scrubs provided by the facility
* High Hispanic population; bilingual skills are a plus
* Strong, experienced nurses willing to teach and educate newer staff preferred
* Baby friendly experience highly valued
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate EFM/Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a well-supported Labor and Delivery unit with a team-oriented environment focused on evidence-based patient care. The unit benefits from 24/7 in-house OB and anesthesia support, along with around-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. A satellite Level 2 NICU is physically located within the facility and attends deliveries as needed, providing an additional layer of support for newborn care.
