Med Surg RN

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Patient ratio of 1:6
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call responsibilities
* May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs or between like units and sister facilities
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only)
* Preferred certifications: ACLS
* Experience with Wound Vacs, Chest Tubes, and Surgical Dressings required
* Previous Charge Experience preferred
* Block schedule may be accommodated with prior approval but not guaranteed
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Charting system: Epic
* Free parking available
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, Diabetes, Pneumonia, Total Joint Replacements, UTI, Wounds, Chest Pain, Amputations, and HTN
* Special procedures include dialysis (peritoneal), chest tube management, wound care, and post-op surgical care
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Rapid Response Teams

Facility:

This is an acute care hospital with a Level III Trauma designation and 286 total staffed beds. The facility operates a Med Surg unit with 42 beds and a daily census of 24-28 patients, serving an adult patient population. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams, ensuring comprehensive patient care delivery.
