Opportunity:

RN - Medical ICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend schedule required
* Patient ratio of 2:1
* Float to other Medical-Surgical Units as needed, with priority focus on pulling to Intensive Care Units
* Perform hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, and completion of My Care Board during hand-off report
* Use AIDET framework with a focus on compassionate connected care
* Provide total care for ICU patients including those with critical care needs
* Operate ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, and glucometers
* Utilize iMobile phones and technology
* Document using Meditech with EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation)
* Perform and assist with intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, CRRT, and proning of patients
* Proficient knowledge required in cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems
* Ventilator management and critical care drip knowledge required
* Thorough and accurate assessment skills required
* ICU experience required
* Must demonstrate positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, self-motivation, and strong communication skills
* Ability to work in a diverse environment required
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS; TNCC a plus
* Required dress code: Ceil blue scrubs; white or ceil blue scrub jacket optional

The Medical ICU is a 26-bed unit that has been recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction, finishing overall #2 ranked ICU in HCA, and consistently maintains high quality measures. The unit features many nationally certified staff members, including managers, along with several highly tenured nursing staff and self-scheduling options within certain guidelines.
