Job Details:

* 3x12 day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM or evening shifts 4x10 every other weekend with call
* Shift options: 9:00 AM or 9:00 PM OR 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with on-call availability
* Guaranteed 36 hours per week
* Average daily census of 22 cases
* Call requirement: 1 day of call per week; 1-2 weekends per 4-5 week schedule (spread out)
* Call schedule examples: Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM call, Saturday & Sunday 2nd call 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday 2:1 (2nd call 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM & 1st call 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) and Sunday 2nd call (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
* Sunday through Friday nights 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM are covered with staff every week; additional coverage needed only if someone calls in or is scheduled off
* Major holidays covered by call shifts for emergencies only; 30-minute response time when on call
* Weekend requirement: Yes
* Scrub color: Royal Blue, White, or a combination of both
* Charting system: Cerner & Accudose
* Parking: Free for travelers
* Must have cardiac and general surgery experience - CV experience is required
* Must have both circulate and scrub experience
* Proficiency in vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting required
* Minimum 2 years RN experience required; 1 year of in-specialty experience required
* First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
* Required certification: BLS (American Heart Association)
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Must be proficient in the following surgical specialties:
- Vascular: including AV fistulas/grafts, aortic surgeries/bypasses, femoral to popliteal or distal bypasses, carotids, and embolectomies
- Orthopedics: arthroscopies and total joints
- General: colorectal/colon resections, laparoscopic assisted surgeries, Whipples, liver resections, thyroids, and mastectomies
- ENT: trachs, laryngectomies, and radical neck dissections
- Urology: cystectomies, nephrectomies, prostatectomies, various implants, and cysto-related procedures
- Robotics: GYN, colorectal, hernias, and lap Nissens
- GYN: abdominal/vaginal hysterectomies and posterior/anterior repairs
* Candidate must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
* Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays

With 838 total staffed beds, the facility provides a wide range of surgical services including cardiovascular, vascular, thoracic, robotic, orthopedic, and general surgery.
