Opportunity:

LPN - Addiction Rehab

Job Details:

* Work in an acute care addiction rehabilitation unit with a capacity of 23 patients
* Unit serves voluntary patients 18 and older recovering from alcohol, crack cocaine, PCP, and other substances
* No set nurse-to-patient ratios; unit is run by counselors with nursing staff handling admissions, medications, and medical issues
* Perform patient assessments with a focus on detox symptom recognition; MedSurg experience preferred
* Must have phlebotomy skills and experience obtaining EKGs; RNs perform EKGs on this unit as needed
* IV placement not routine; may start an IV only in the event of a medical emergency
* No physical restraints used; patients who cannot follow rules are discharged, and those with psych concerns are transferred
* No nursing aides or techs available on unit
* Charge nurse/PCM available in-building during business hours and by phone during non-business hours
* Floating may be required to sister Rehab unit, clinic, or psychiatry unit (security escort provided at night when floating to psychiatry)
* Every other weekend required
* One winter holiday and one summer holiday required
* No on-call or standby requirement
* 5-day unit-specific orientation on the floors
* Scrub color: LPNs wear Kelly Green
* Charting system: Allscripts
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), De-Escalation Training
* Minimum 1 year of experience accepted; psych experience preferred but not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a voluntary addiction rehabilitation unit focused on providing medical support to patients recovering from substance use. The unit works collaboratively with counselors and medical staff to ensure stable patients receive appropriate care, including admissions, medication management, and medical intervention when needed. The facility also maintains a psychiatry unit in an adjacent building, supporting a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health services.
