Job Details:

* 3x12 night shifts covering weekdays and weekends
* Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity with potential for step-down level overflow patients
* Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience
* Must be experienced in direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR
* Must be proficient in pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management
* Must be experienced in Impella monitoring and CRRT
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
* Charting system: Cerner (preferred)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, IABP, management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, procedural sedation, sheath removal, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD)
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Blocked schedules will be considered
* Scrubs not provided
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission

Facility:

This facility is home to a 10-bed Cardiac Care Unit that primarily cares for cardiothoracic surgery patients, including CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, carotid endarterectomies, and more. The unit also provides care for complicated cardiac cath lab patients, medical cardiology patients, STEMIs, cardiogenic shock patients, and post-code patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
