Opportunity:

Pharmacist - Acute Care

Job Details:

* Overnight position working 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM starting on Mondays
* Schedule follows a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
* Total of 70 hours per 2-week pay period, all worked within one week
* Work alongside one other pharmacist during shifts
* Help patients utilize medications effectively by ensuring the right patient receives the correct drug in the proper amount at the right time
* Produce and distribute pharmaceutical products with accuracy and efficiency
* Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose
* Recommend changes or alternatives to drug therapies as needed
* Apply pharmacokinetic concepts to prescribe appropriate drug therapies requiring dosage adjustments per hospital protocol
* Recommend appropriate lab tests and monitor values to determine therapeutic efficacy without development of toxicities or side effects
* Detect and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner
* Provide services to patients across multiple age populations, including neonate through geriatric
* Charting system: EPIC
* Trauma Level 2, Acute Care setting
* Current Illinois Pharmacist License or Letter of Authority from the Department of Professional Regulation in the State of Illinois required
* BLS Certification required
* Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13-week or longer contract; 2 shifts per 12-week or shorter contract

Facility:

This is a Level 2 Trauma acute care facility that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical services. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and supports a collaborative pharmacy team environment, with pharmacists working alongside one another to ensure safe and effective medication management for patients across a wide range of age groups and medical conditions.
