5N Med Surg RN

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
* 13-week contract or longer with possibility of extension
* Patient ratios of 1:4-6
* Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred
* Travel experience not required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
* IV start skills required
* Blocked schedule available
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Unit is a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with med/surg overflow
* Chemotherapy administration experience required
* Skills include accessing and managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, administration of chemotherapy, central line care and blood draws, chest tube care and management, foley catheter insertion and management, infusion pump management, IV push administration, PICC line care, wound care, and starting and maintaining IVs
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Facility will only tolerate 2-3 call-offs per contract
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility
* Minimum 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required

This facility operates a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with med/surg overflow capabilities, providing specialized cancer care and general medical-surgical services. The unit offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services.
