Opportunity:

RN - Case Management

Job Details:

* Active Alaska nursing license required at time of submission
* 8 years of clinical care or nursing experience required, with 3 years in chart review, risk management, or related quality service
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
* Case Management certification by a recognized certifying organization (i.e., NCQA, CCMC) preferred
* Must live at least 100 miles away from the facility address
* Manage patient progression of care and promote evidence-based protocols to ensure appropriateness of interventions
* Review patient records and evaluate patient progress throughout hospitalization
* Monitor necessity and appropriateness of hospitalization, length of stay, and quality of care
* Obtain and review medical reports and treatment plans as requested by regulatory agencies or payers
* Validate physician orders and report progress and unusual occurrences on patients
* Collaborate with physicians and clinical care teams to ensure healthcare services are appropriate and cost-effective
* Review new hospital admissions to assess patient conditions and develop personalized treatment plans
* Provide appropriate information to patients and families regarding healthcare benefits
* Facilitate educational programs and advise physicians on regulations affecting utilization management and case management
* Maintain utilization review and appeal logs and respond to complaints per review guidelines
* Perform tumor registry functions
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and concepts of disease required
* Proficiency in ICD-9 and CPT coding required
* Strong written, oral communication, and organizational skills required
