Opportunity:
RN - CVICU
Job Details:
* Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required
* May need to work consecutive weekends to accommodate requested time off
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 and 1:2
* 20-bed unit
* Provide care for post open heart surgery and cardiac medical patients
* Manage ventilators, tracheostomies, and trach care
* Utilize Epic computer system, Omnicell Medication Administration, B. Braun IV Pumps, Avea ventilators, Edwards and Phillips patient monitoring
* Minimum 3 years RN experience required with at least 1 year of CVICU nursing experience
* Experience required with post heart cath recovery and patient management
* Experience required with post-op day 1 open heart surgery patient management
* Experience required with long-term ventilated patients, Swan-Ganz catheters, and vasoactive medication titration
* May float to ICU, IMCU, ED, medical surgical, telemetry, post-surgical, and ortho neuro units
* Travelers float prior to regularly employed staff per RN Union Contract
* If floated to med-surg, will serve as resource nurse with a reduced assignment
* Scheduled call is not required but mandatory standby due to low census is possible
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Oregon RN License required
* Dress code: Standard scrubs in any color; no visible tattoos on the neck or above; facial jewelry limited to earrings and a small discreet nose stud no larger than 1.5 mm
* Charting system: Epic
* BSN not required
* Trauma Level 2, Acute Care Setting

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive cardiovascular intensive care unit specializing in post open heart surgery and cardiac medical patient care. The unit is equipped with advanced monitoring and medication administration technology to support complex patient needs. The facility operates under an RN Union Contract and maintains high standards for patient care across multiple specialty units including ICU, IMCU, ED, and surgical floors.
