Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts, 3-4 shifts per week with 36 guaranteed hours per week
* 13-week assignment
* Work 3-4 weekend shifts on a 28-day schedule
* Orientation offered on Mondays only - begins in Human Resources, then Occupational Health for Respiratory Fit Test, followed by Nursing Education for unit-specific testing
* All RNs will take a medication test on the first day of orientation
* 3-4 orientation shifts provided on the unit with a Clinical Preceptor prior to being assigned patients
* Care for high-risk patients including high diabetic population
* Follow AWHONN staffing standards: 1:1 ratio for patients 6cm or greater dilated or on Magnesium/insulin drips; 1:2 ratio for all other patients
* Perform external versions and second trimester cerclages on day shift only
* Will not perform inductions less than 39 weeks
* Follow assigned C-Section patients through entire care until sign off
* Work within an 8 LDR, 2 Triage, 2 OR, and 2 PACU bed department
* Chart using Meditech (PCS for L&D; ORM for Surgical) and OBIX fetal surveillance system
* Use WOWs (Workstations on Wheels) for charting, Pyxis for medication administration, and Solaris IV pumps
* Scrubs are provided for travelers working in L&D
* Self-scheduling available in Women's Services with schedule balanced by leadership based on experience and skill set
* Minimum 2 years of experience in L&D setting required
* Active California RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS issued through American Heart Association, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification or equivalent
