Opportunity:

MS Neuro RN

Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week period required with holiday rotation
* Float within scope to meet facility needs between like units and sister facilities as needed
* No on-call required
* Care for adult and geriatric patients in a 23-bed inpatient General Neurology, Medical Stroke, and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
* Manage patients with diagnoses including Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, seizures, and strokes
* Support Comprehensive Spine Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center programs
* Care for overflow of neurosurgical patients and spine surgeries as needed
* Perform continuous epilepsy monitoring using hard-wired room equipment
* Required skills include CVA management, isolation precautions/PPE, peripheral line care and management, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
* 1 year of nursing experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
* Required certifications: BLS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS

This facility is a large academic medical center offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across a wide range of specialties. The 9 West unit is a 23-bed inpatient neurology floor featuring all private patient rooms, including one reverse air flow room and nine rooms hard-wired for continuous epilepsy monitoring a program unique to this unit. The facility supports advanced neurology programs including a Comprehensive Spine Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, and provides interdisciplinary care for complex neurological and neurosurgical patient populations.
