Opportunity:

RN - Neuro ICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
* Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted unless 3 years of recent experience
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered during interview
* Block scheduling not available
* Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
* Pending license not accepted; must be in compliance with NLC guidelines at time of submittal
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* EPIC charting system experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Patient ratio experience: 2-3 patients
* All requested time off must be included at time of submission; RTO submitted after offer is made will not be honored
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 holidays if only 2 fall within the assignment
* May be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* Key skills required include: arterial line management, ventilator management, ICP monitoring, EVD management, titration of vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, traumatic brain injury care, post craniotomy and post neurosurgery management, central line care, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
* Patient population: adults with all neuro diagnoses
* Unit capacity: 20 beds, daily census of 16
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
* Special procedures performed on unit: EVD, Prisma, and post-epilepsy surgery care
* Orientation: 24 hours
