Opportunity:

RN - ICU/PCU

Job Details:

* ICU-level RN required to work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
* Patient ratio of 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* Self-scheduling
* No on-call required
* Float required within skillset between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Must be a true ICU RN - float experience is not accepted
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, MI, stroke, CHF, open heart, and trauma
* Special procedures include intubation, extubation, and EGD
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrub color: Any color
* Free parking available
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line and PICC line care/management, post MI care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry (unit and remote monitoring), tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injury care, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This is an acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 377 total staffed beds and a daily census of approximately 280 patients. The facility features a 34-bed PCU unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains high standards of patient care. The organization offers a well-rounded support system including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more to ensure quality care across a diverse patient population.
