Charge RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend and holiday requirement on an as-needed basis
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Floating may be required to PCU or Burn unit
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6/7 with CNA support at the same ratio
* Virtual nurse support available at a 1:30 ratio under the Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) dyad model
* Common patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and orthopedic cases
* Heparin drips permitted; no other titratable drips
* Telemetry monitoring available on the floor with centralized telemetry station
* Respiratory therapy available 24 hours on the floor
* Charge nurse present on each shift with an assignment
* 42-bed unit
* Charting system: EPIC
* Orientation consists of one week of classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the floor
* Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
* Required certification: BLS
* BSN not required
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
* Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
* Requested time off must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract

The facility has implemented an innovative Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) dyad model, pairing bedside nurses with dedicated CNAs and virtual nurse support to enhance patient outcomes. The organization maintains robust support services including 24-hour respiratory therapy and centralized telemetry monitoring to ensure high-quality care delivery.
