Job Details:

* Night shift position with as-needed call and float requirements
* Patient ratio of 4:1 during nights and days, 2:1 on weekends
* 12-hour orientation period
* Serves a diverse patient population including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 110 patients with 24 rooms and 31 beds available
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience required
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required and must be noted in work history
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, MAB, CPI Blue Card (from Crisis Prevention Institute, must be in-hand when applying - MAB or Online CPI Blue certification not accepted), NIHSS
* Valid California State License required in-hand when applying (EMSA not accepted)
* Two (2) supervisor references required when applying
* Required skills include: management of dysrhythmias, central line care and management, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions and PPE, triage, starting and maintaining IVs, continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, chest tube insertion and management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, hypothermia protocol, IV insulin protocols, and assist/manage intubation
* Additional clinical competencies include: CVA management, mental and behavioral health conditions, acute psychosis, drug overdose, managing violent behavior, psychiatric hold, and suicidal patient management
* No RTO within the first two weeks of assignment; maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract preferred

Facility:

This is a community hospital emergency department operating with a daily census of 110 patients and 31 beds across 24 rooms. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke certified, supporting a full-spectrum emergency department that treats combined adult and pediatric patients. The department is supported by interdisciplinary teams and maintains high clinical standards across a wide range of emergency and trauma-related conditions.
