Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Acute care setting in a Neuro ICU unit with 20 beds
* Patient ratio of 2:1
* Weekend requirement includes 3 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday), 1 Friday, and 1 Monday per 4-week schedule
* Holiday shifts assigned as needed
* Preference and block scheduling available with adjustments based on unit needs
* Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Common diagnoses include stroke, dialysis, head bleeds, ventric/EVD, and neuro disorders requiring critical care
* Required to titrate drips including Levophed, phenylephrine, Versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin, nicardipine, and vasopressin
* Work with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, high flow, and nasal cannula
* Telemetry monitoring available with monitor techs observing from another floor
* Free charge nurse available and not included in staffing ratios
* Nurse aides on unit at a 10:1 ratio
* Intensivist in house during the day and on call at night with 24/7 APP coverage
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* ICU and critical care experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

This acute care facility operates a specialized Neuro ICU unit providing critical care services to patients with complex neurological conditions. The facility maintains a free charge nurse model to support bedside nurses and offers 24/7 intensivist and APP coverage to ensure continuous patient support. The unit is equipped with advanced respiratory therapy equipment and telemetry monitoring capabilities, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive critical care services.
