Job Details:

* 13-week assignment
* Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period; may be called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2-week period
* Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend and is subject to staffing needs
* No on-call required
* Block scheduling not available
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for bedside RN and CNA
* Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model utilized on unit: each patient has 1 bedside RN, 1 Virtual RN, and 1 CNA
* Virtual nurse works remotely and assists with admissions, discharge education, care plans, CIWA, and MD follow-up
* May float to like/similar MS units to meet facility needs
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Surgical patient diagnoses include: colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, EENT, and wound
* Medical patient diagnoses include: cancer-related, lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorder
* Telemetry monitoring required
* Required skills include: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Parking is free
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Required certifications: BLS
* Alaska RN license required; pending license accepted but must have license in hand prior to start
* Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submittal
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
