Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with hours of 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (days) or 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (nights)
* Night shift position with every other weekend requirement (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
* No self-scheduling available
* Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1
* Float requirement to Telemetry and ER for ICU holds - first to float
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; CCRN preferred
* EMR system: Cerner PowerChart
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Experience with vasopressors, Nitro, Heparin, and other drips required
* Ventilator experience required
* Common patient diagnoses include cardiac, PCI, open heart, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, CABG, stents, balloon pumps, cath lab, and craniotomies
* Travelers will not be assigned fresh open heart or craniotomy patients
* General medical surgical ICU nursing skills required
* Minimum 3 years of experience required, or 2+ years from a large institution
* Prior travel experience preferred
* Must be skilled, competent, and compassionate in patient care with a focus on patient satisfaction
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Floor-specific orientation includes 1 day on the ICU and one shift on the Telemetry/step-down unit
* December start includes orientation only

This acute care facility operates a 44-bed licensed ICU currently utilizing 36 beds, supported by a 24/7 intensivist team through a dedicated physician group. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services including access to respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and telemetry monitoring around the clock. The organization emphasizes high-quality patient care and satisfaction, maintaining a well-equipped unit with 44 hardwired GE monitors and a dedicated monitor technician.
