Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM or 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with flexible start times available at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend required with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday counted as the weekend, may be every weekend depending on staffing needs
* Holiday work required and will be incorporated into permanent staff rotation
* First to float policy in effect
* 1 day of orientation on the floor
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; trauma experience preferred
* First time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Scrub color requirement: Blue for RN
* Patient ratios of 2:1 to 4:1
* 24-bed emergency department with fast track area operated out of a separate space; travelers typically work in main ER
* Approximately 250 patient visits per day
* Common diagnoses include STEMI, cardiac conditions, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, and DKA
* Care divided into three areas: fast track, treat and anticipate disposition, and acute care
* Charting system: Cerner PowerChart
* GE telemetry monitors with 22 hardwired monitors viewable in room and at nurses station
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7; pharmacy available 24/7
* ER techs available to assist with technical duties and security needs
* Phlebotomists available for lab draws unless central line draw is required
* No floating required

Facility:

This acute care emergency facility operates a 24-bed emergency department that serves as a STEMI receiving facility, treating a high volume of approximately 250 patients per day. The facility features a dedicated fast track area and provides comprehensive emergency services supported by on-site respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and physician coverage including MDs, PAs, and NPs. The organization maintains robust support staff including ER technicians and a charge nurse who dedicates full attention to unit oversight.
