Open Position: OB Tech - L&D Tech

Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - OB

Job Details:

* Work night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
* Surgical scrub experience required, preferably in OB with cesarean sections
* Assist in preparation of patient rooms and set up for procedures utilizing aseptic technique
* Open sterile supplies and check integrity of sterile packaging
* Assist the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner
* Participate in timeouts on each case
* Assist nursing staff in deliveries including preparation, positioning, transporting, transferring, and discharging patients
* Collect urinalysis specimens and apply fetal monitoring equipment
* Take and record maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake and output measurements
* Perform personal care services and assist with activities of daily living for patients
* Additional duties include patient registration, stocking the OB unit, rooming triage patients, and assisting with birth certificates
* High School Education/GED preferred; Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
* Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification preferred
* BLS certification required
* Minimum two years of recent experience in field required

Facility:

This facility is a 49-bed hospital with affiliated clinics offering both specialty and primary care services. The newly built emergency department operates with a physician on duty 24 hours a day and is designated as a level IV trauma center. Each year, the facility treats more than 25,000 patients in its emergency room, performs more than 5,000 surgical procedures in its hospital-based and ambulatory surgery center, delivers nearly 850 babies, and performs more than 43,000 radiology tests.
