Opportunity:

RN - PCU/Step-down

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 PM
* 3 shifts per week with every other weekend (EOW) requirement
* 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule; nights cover Friday and Saturday
* Self-scheduling for the most part, with schedules made 2-3 weeks in advance initially, then up to 9 weeks in advance
* Holiday shifts worked into permanent staff rotation (holiday RTO will be considered but may not be guaranteed)
* 14-bed unit with 7 rooms; nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
* 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
* First to float to Telemetry or MedSurg when needed
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Common diagnoses include ICU stepdown patients, TBI/trauma patients, major surgery, CEA, and sepsis
* Must have experience with arterial and CVP pressure lines, titrating pressors, Precedex, trach, and stable vented patients
* Required to titrate drips including Precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and Levophed
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Navy blue
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty; open to first-time travelers
* Must be self-motivated, team oriented, and knowledgeable of HCAHPS and core measures
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
