Opportunity:

Medical Surgical / Registered Nurse

Job Details:

* Night shift position with 48-hour or 36-hour shift options available
* Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required, strictly enforced
* Travel experience required
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:12 utilizing a team nursing model (RN/LPN/PCT), which equates to approximately 1:6-7 patients per RN
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Daily census of 42 with a 47-bed unit
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed
* Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered and must be discussed during interview
* First-time travelers not accepted unless they have 5+ years of experience in the specialty
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission; RTO submitted after an offer will not be honored
* EPIC charting system experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: Accessing/Managing Ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Bowel obstruction, Central line blood draw, Chest tubes, Colostomy/ileostomy management, Continuous Bladder Irrigation, CVA management, Feeding tube care, Heparin and Insulin administration, Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Cardiac drip management, Telemetry/remote monitoring, Tracheostomy care, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams

This short-term acute care facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center, providing high-acuity care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. The facility maintains a team nursing model that pairs RNs with LPNs and PCTs to deliver comprehensive patient care.
