Job Details:

* Night shift position
* Minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
* Holiday shifts required
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4
* Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Float within Zone 1 may be required in cases of extreme need
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Must be located within 60 miles of facility; driver's license must be submitted
* Must be available in-state for the full week of orientation even if initial modules are remote
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
* Common drips include cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7 in the ED; RNs expected to troubleshoot ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment
* RNs may be required to draw labs in addition to phlebotomy team
* Call or standby requirements determined by nurse manager
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, NRP, TNCC

Facility:

This acute care emergency department operates as a Level IV Trauma Center and serves as both a STEMI Receiving and Stroke Center. The facility features 15 beds and 2 trauma bays, a Fast Track area, dedicated triage and separate psychiatric/seclusion rooms, and 24/7 in-house security stationed within the emergency department. The department treats an average of 35 or more patients per day and is supported by respiratory therapy, charge nurses, and nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics on a shift-dependent basis.
