Opportunity:

RN - Post-Op Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* Two weekends (4 shifts) required per four-week schedule
* Patient ratio of 6:1
* 34-bed Post-Op Med/Surg unit located on the 6th floor
* Tech support available on both day and night shifts
* Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Document patient information using Meditech documentation system
* Operate and maintain equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
* Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
* Conduct bedside shift report and include patients and family members in plan of care
* Required skills include Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
* Contract labor is first to float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
* Active RN license and BLS certification required
* Navy scrub tops and bottoms required
