Job Details:

* Work 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, shift times are negotiable
* Call requirements include one weekday per week and one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in rotation with staff
* Call response time is 30 minutes with an on-site call room available for team members
* Holiday call not required but preferred if available
* Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* One week of unit/department specific orientation required; must be in state for full week of orientation
* Common cases include open heart, TAVR, open/endovascular, and thoracic procedures
* Facility averages 30 cases per day across 16 suites including 3 CVOR suites, with 1-2 heart cases per day
* Open heart experience and/or endovascular experience required
* Scrubbing required for RNs only to hold the heart and help close the chest
* May float to General OR if no CVOR cases, or within Zone 1 locations in cases of extreme need
* Charting system is Epic
* Hospital provided scrubs in light blue
* BSN not required
* Must reside within 60 miles of facility; valid driver's license must be submitted
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA); ACLS preferred

This acute care facility operates a large surgical department featuring 16 operating suites, including 3 dedicated cardiovascular operating rooms. The facility performs an average of 30 cases per day, including 1-2 open heart procedures daily, and is supported by a team of 8 OR technicians in the CVOR. The organization utilizes Epic as its electronic medical records system and provides a fully equipped on-site call room to support staff during call shifts.
