Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM to 7:00 PM) and nights (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
* First to float to Telemetry and any ED ICU/Telemetry holds
* Patient ratio of 2:1 in a 32-bed ICU unit set up in pods of 8
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Charting system: Cerner EMR
* RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own cardiac monitor strips (no monitor techs)
* Manage drips including pressors, antiarrhythmics, and sedation
* Experience with ventilator management required
* Common diagnoses include neuro, cardiac, PCI, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, TBI, and ICP monitoring
* Huddle report and bedside report required
* Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue for RNs
* No acrylic nails or gel polish allowed during assignment
* Minimum 3 years of ICU experience preferred
* Orientation: Day 1 includes 8 hours with ICU educator and 4 hours with preceptor; Day 2 includes 12 hours with preceptor
* Hospitalist or Intensivist in house, RT available 24/7, and Pharmacy available 24/7

This acute care facility operates a 32-bed ICU licensed for up to 40 beds, organized into pods of 8 for efficient patient management. The unit is supported by a dedicated charge nurse with no patient assignment, a resource RN, and nurse aides on day shifts. The facility provides around-the-clock respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, ensuring comprehensive support for high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and specialized care.
