Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac

Job Details:

* 48-hour guarantee available
* 30-bed cardiac unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
* Unit staffing includes unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCTs on day and night shifts, nursing supervisor, and hospitalists
* Work with equipment including Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, GE Telemetry, and Rovers
* Documentation system: Meditech-HCA version
* Medications managed via WOW for all nurses and PyxisES dispensing system
* Scheduling requires equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
* Floating policy includes general M/S, ortho, PCU, and M/S surgical with oncology on a rotating basis unless skill mix is needed
* Patient experience requirements include bedside rounding, hourly rounding with 5Ps checked, and reporting to PCTs of known needs at beginning and during shifts
* Procedures performed on unit include chest tube management, wound vac management, and ad lib EKGs
* Advanced knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips required
* Cardiac knowledge preferred
* Documentation of telemetry application and acknowledging rhythm strips required each shift
* No Pass Zone policy for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms
* Dress code: RN - Navy scrubs; CNA/PCT - Ceil blue scrub set; may wear white, blue, grey, orange, or black t-shirt underneath with no graphics; no artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH

This medical center operates a 30-bed cardiac unit on the third floor of the main building, providing specialized cardiac care in a well-staffed environment. The facility features experienced charge nurses with long-tenured seniority on both day and night shifts, as well as shared governance at both the unit and facility levels.
