RN - Med/Tele

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Work on a 25 private-bed unit on the 2nd floor, including 23 floor beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds
* Patient population includes COPD with exacerbation, CHF, swing bed patients, amputations, wound care, long-term antibiotics, as well as some post-partum and pediatric patients
* Patient ratio of 1:4, with 1:5 as a stretch
* Charge Nurse available on every shift and does not take patients
* Central telemetry monitoring with two portable telemetry monitors available
* May float to the ED but only function as a task nurse
* Chart using Meditech Expanse; pumps are Alaris
* Wear navy blue scrubs
* Minimum of 2 years experience working in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit required
* Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital required
* Experience with Meditech Expanse computer charting preferred
* Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS (American Heart Association)
* PALS certification preferred
* Must have own reliable transportation as Uber and Lyft services are not available in the area

Facility:

This critical access hospital provides comprehensive inpatient care with a strong emphasis on keeping patients local through its swing bed program. The facility offers excellent support services including Social Services with three Case Managers, in-house Pharmacy until 11:00 PM Monday through Friday with remote pharmacist coverage overnight and on weekends, 24/7 lab services handling blood draws, and robust therapy services with patients seen multiple times per day. The facility maintains a well-staffed environment with Charge Nurses on every shift and Nurse Aides or Unit Clerks typically available.
