Job Details:

* Day shift position on a 32-bed Medical Surgical Neurology unit
* 36 or 48 hour per week scheduling options available; any hours over 48 are considered overtime
* Self-scheduling available
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
* No on-call requirements
* Floating to like units as needed
* 1 year of recent Med Surg or Neurology experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Charting system: Epic
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS (pending okay); CPI preferred
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, CVA management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drain management, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Rapid response team activation available on unit
