Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Every other holiday requirement
* Patient ratio of 1 to 4
* Auto lunch deductions apply
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* Must wear Caribbean Blue scrubs
* Minimum 5+ years of experience required
* Meditech 6.15 EMR experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS or NIHSS, CPI
* Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed during week one
* Nurses are responsible for own lab draws and IV starts
* Charge nurse and nurse aides/paramedics (5-6 per shift) available on shift
* Security and patient sitters available; patients held in main ER until admitted
* 24/7 respiratory therapy dedicated to the ER, managing ventilated patients until admitted
* Central monitoring tech available for telemetry/monitor support
* Pharmacy available in-department 11 hours per day and on campus 24/7
* Department sees approximately 180-200 patient visits per day
* Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
* Treat trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and select neurological cases; burns are not kept on site
* 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psychiatry
* Acute care setting

Facility:

This facility is a high-volume emergency department handling approximately 180-200 patient visits per day, operating as a designated CVA center with dedicated trauma capabilities. The department is supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy, around-the-clock pharmacy services, central monitoring technicians, and a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, mid-level providers, nurse aides, and security personnel. A 6-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psychiatry is also available on site to support a wide range of patient needs.
