RN - PCU/Stepdown

Job Details:

* PCU/Stepdown unit focused on Neuroscience, Neurology, Neurosurgical, and Telemetry patients
* Cardiac drip experience required - ability to titrate and manage drips is a hard stop requirement
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Block schedules not required
* Expected patient ratios of 1:4-5
* 48-hour shifts approved
* 36 orientation hours required
* Daily census of 48 patients with 64 beds available
* Position may float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if unit is overstaffed
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation
* NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Charting system: Epic (required, hard stop)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* At least 1 year of telemetry experience required for select requisitions; at least 6 months of neuro experience required for select night shift requisitions
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Candidates may choose one holiday - either Thanksgiving or Christmas - but cannot have both off
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with a total of 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it is committed to advancing medical education and providing high-quality patient care.
