Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts
* Every other weekend requirement
* Every other holiday requirement
* 6-9 weekend shifts expected in a 6-week schedule
* Float within a 60-mile radius zone throughout the region's ERs
* Housing must be obtained to make floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
* Must be present in state during the week of orientation, even if first day modules are remote
* Average of 30 patients treated per day in the ER
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
* Administer standard ER medications and drips
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are on staff
* Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
* Charge nurse takes an active patient assignment
* Techs available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS, TNCC

Facility:

This acute care facility operates an emergency department that serves as an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Stroke facility. The emergency department sees an average of 30 patients per day and handles a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, and neurological cases. The facility maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy support and utilizes EPIC as its electronic charting system to ensure comprehensive and efficient patient care.

Zone 4, Midwest Region
