RN - Critical Care

Job Details:

* Assess patient conditions and plan and implement individualized patient care plans
* Treat wounds and provide advanced life support
* Assist physicians in performing procedures
* Observe and record patient vital signs
* Ensure proper functioning of ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment including ventilator and IABP adjustments
* Administer intravenous fluids and medications
* Perform suctioning procedures
* Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team
* Respond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols for treatment
* Act as patient advocate and provide education and support to patient families
* Care for pre- and post-operative patients as needed
* Float to LTAC units depending on facility census
* Must have ventilator and trach experience
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (must be through the American Heart Association)
* Illinois RN or multi-state RN license required
