Job Details:

* 4x12 variable shift schedule
* Shifts will be either days or nights based on facility needs at time of start date - caregivers are not typically asked to rotate between day and night shifts, though occasional exceptions may occur for urgent staffing needs
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period - traveler may be called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2-week period
* Assignment duration: traveler's choice of 13 or 26 weeks
* Patient ratio of 1:20
* Minimum 1 year of experience required - previous travel experience required
* LTC experience required
* Alaska RN license must be in hand at submission - no pending licenses accepted
* Required certifications: BLS
* Required skills: oxygen administration, peripheral line care, isolation precautions/PPE
* Proficiency with special procedures including accuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, PEG tube (G-tube) feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration PRN, phlebotomy lab draws, peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous only), respiratory treatments (nebulizers), and wound care
* Special equipment includes lifts, vital sign machines, glucose monitors, Sara Steady, pacemaker transmitter, and EKGs
* Charting system: ECS
* Scrub color: any
* No on-call required
* Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs - refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Block schedule not available
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility - local candidates not accepted
* Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) - preference for travelers willing to work any holidays
* All requested time off must be submitted with initial submittal - RTO will not be considered after an offer is made or contract is signed
* No more than 1 week of RTO for a 13-week contract and no more than 2 weeks of RTO for a 26-week contract
* Previous charge experience preferred
* LTAC experience preferred
* All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification as a condition of working in an LTC facility - certification is obtained during on-site orientation and there is a one-time $10 fee
* Facility will arrange shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at the start and end of the contract, and a local shuttle is available in Seward for local transportation
* Parking is free

This long-term care facility operates with 40 total staffed beds and 10 rooms, providing specialized care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer's, traumatic brain injury, cognitive and physical impairments, and other LTC-appropriate conditions. The facility is equipped to support complex patient needs and utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to care, maintaining a focus on quality outcomes for its long-term residents.
