Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Details:

* Flex position covering various shifts as needed due to staffing needs, including night shifts, evening shifts, mid-shifts, and rotating weekends
* Training consists of 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) for approximately one month
* Night shift schedule: 7 on/7 off with 10-hour shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Evening shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
* Mid-shifts: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
* Day shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
* On-call required as needed
* Rotating weekends required after fully trained
* Position does not float between units
* Will train across 4 departments: Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, and UA Micro
* Generalist role requiring Blood Bank experience
* Must be able to work independently on night shift after training and competency verification
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ASCP, ASCP-MLS, ASCP-MLT, MLS, or MLT
* Phlebotomy experience is a plus
* Experience with EXLs and Sysmex instrumentation is a plus
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Scrub color: Any color or business casual
* No position floating between units
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Facility:

This facility is a Short Term Acute Care and Level IV Trauma Center with 60 total staff beds. The laboratory department supports a full range of patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and provides training across multiple laboratory departments to ensure comprehensive coverage of patient care needs.
