Med Surg RN

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only)
* Preferred certifications: ACLS
* Experience with wound vacs, chest tubes, and surgical dressings required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Charting system: Epic
* Free parking available
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, total joint replacements, UTI, wounds, chest pain, amputations, and hypertension
* Special procedures include dialysis (peritoneal), chest tube management, wound care, and post-operative surgical care
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
* Unit census of 24-28 patients daily across 42 beds
* Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams

This acute care hospital is a Level III Trauma Center with 286 total staffed beds, offering a full range of inpatient medical and surgical services. The facility supports a comprehensive interdisciplinary care model and utilizes Epic for electronic charting. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and provides robust support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
