Opportunity:

ICU RN - PCU Unit

Job Details:

* Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) requiring true ICU-level nursing experience
* Patient ratio of 1:3 on days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling with every other weekend requirement
* Float required within skillset between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* No on-call required
* Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required - ICU level nurses only, no float experience accepted
* First-time travelers accepted
* Locals accepted within 50-mile radius
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, LA City Fire Card
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrub color: Any color
* Free parking available
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Treat patients with diagnoses including Sepsis, MI, Stroke, CHF, Open Heart, and Trauma
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injury care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Special procedures include: intubation, extubation, and EGD
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

Facility:

This is an acute care Magnet-designated facility with 377 total staffed beds and a daily census of approximately 280 patients. The unit consists of 34 beds and rooms, offering robust interdisciplinary support services. The facility maintains high standards of patient care and supports a wide range of complex medical and surgical patient needs.
