Job Details:

* Day/Night rotating shifts with hours of 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Every other holiday requirement
* Call/standby requirement depending on staffing needs
* Block scheduling available, no self-scheduling
* Float requirement to Med/Surg and ER as needed (permanent staff is typically first to float)
* 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
* Required certifications: BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
* Must be able to read and interpret fetal strips independently
* Required to titrate drips including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
* Work with Philips telemetry monitors and EFM system (TraceView/PIP)
* Charting system: Meditech
* Scrub color is maroon - scrubs are provided and must be changed into surgical scrubs upon arrival to the unit
* Unit follows AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 ratio for pit, mag, or insulin drips; 1:3 for couplet care
* Work with a patient mix including obstetric/neonates, hypertension, and gestational diabetes mellitus
* Unit consists of 15 total beds - 7 Labor & Delivery and 8 Postpartum with 1 OR suite for C-sections
* Must demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, and communication
* Previous travel experience required

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Critical Access Hospital offering Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum services with approximately 58 births per month. The unit operates around the clock with charge nurses on every shift and CNAs available to assist with vitals, transfers, and patient mobility. The facility is a locked unit and maintains a collaborative team environment with access to respiratory therapy equipment and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
