Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts with schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 on weekdays and weekends
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* Patient ratios of 1:5-7
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Travel experience not required
* Blocked schedule: unit cannot guarantee scheduling requests but will work with travelers as best as possible
* No scrubs provided
* Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association where applicable)
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles from the facility
* Provide care for adult patients in an acute medical-surgical setting with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs
* Required skills include: blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, heparin and insulin administration, IV insulin protocols, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, peripheral line and PICC line management, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Facility will only tolerate 2-3 call-offs per contract due to attendance concerns

This facility operates a 34-bed acute medical-surgical unit that manages patients with a wide range of diagnoses and complex care needs. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment where nursing staff and clinical assistants are adaptable and well-prepared to provide high-quality care. The team emphasizes teamwork, compassion, evidence-based practice, respect, and professionalism while maintaining a strong balance of experienced and novice staff members.
