Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit

Job Details:

* Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays with some weekend shifts required
* Typical patient ratio of 1:4 with flex to 1:5 in emergency situations
* Block scheduling available for weekend blocks only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* Minimum 1.5-2+ years of experience required; 1 year of Medical/Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience preferred
* Must be able to read telemetry strips
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with primarily cardiac diagnoses including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures
* Unit consists of 36 beds with a daily census of 34
* Patients may include Progressive Care or Telemetry acuity levels with varying acuity
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Required skills: IV start and telemetry monitoring
* Proficiency with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care, heparin protocols, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, and titration of insulin drips required
* Experience with Cerner EMR required
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* WV or Compact nursing license required
