RN - Medsurg/Onc

Job Details:

* Night shift position with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holiday requirement as needed
* No on-call or standby requirement
* 48-hour shifts available with first to float designation
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
* Required to titrate drips including Lasix and Heparin
* Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred but not required
* Must be comfortable working with stable BiPAP patients and established trachs with blow by oxygen
* Will float to other MedSurg units; if floated to tele, a tele RN will handle strip interpretation
* Charting system: EPIC
* No specific scrub color required
* 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Valid state license required for submission
* Trauma Level 2, Acute Care setting
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved

This acute care facility operates a 31-bed Medsurg/Oncology unit with a strong focus on team culture and patient support. The unit treats a diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics, with common diagnoses including strokes, HTN, COPD, CHF, atrial fibrillation, chest pain, cellulitis, and oncology patients requiring chemotherapy. The facility maintains a charge nurse on each shift as a resource for staff, nurse aides and patient care techs at a 1:8 ratio, and telemetry monitor technicians to support the nursing team.
