Opportunity:

Labor & Delivery RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend schedule based on unit needs
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on unit needs
* Patient ratios of 1:1-2 across days, nights, and weekends
* Float required within skillset between Antepartum, L&D, L&D PACU, and Postpartum without exception
* Work settings include AP, HRAP, LDRP, MB, and Level I Nursery with 200-300+ births per month
* Hospital scrubs provided
* EPIC charting system experience required
* Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* At least 1 supervisory reference required at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM
* Must be able to circulate, scrub, and recover C-sections
* Experience required with high-risk deliveries, OB triage, fetal monitoring, hemorrhage/shock management, and antepartum care
* Proficiency required with IV therapy including blood products, anticoagulation, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, insulin drips, Pitocin/oxytocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
* Newborn care skills required including neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, phototherapy, and newborn assessment
* Postpartum skills required including breastfeeding/lactation support, couplet care, and postpartum hemorrhage management
* First-time travelers and local candidates accepted

This 597-bed academic teaching hospital is one of the largest hospitals in the state and part of the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey. The Labor & Delivery Maternal Child Pavilion provides care for both low and high-risk patients, with maternal-fetal medicine services and a Level III NICU available for newborns requiring advanced care. The facility also supports antepartum and Mother/Baby services, including high-risk pregnancy management, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and family-centered bonding practices such as the Golden Hour following delivery.
