Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Days: Saturday/Sunday, Nights: Friday/Saturday)
* Work into permanent staff rotation for holidays
* No on-call or standby requirement
* First to float policy - may float to IMCU (2West) or Med/Surg departments
* 22-bed Telemetry unit with a 1:3-4 patient ratio
* Common diagnoses include Stroke, TIA, Seizure, TBI, and mixed Med/Surg Telemetry patients
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty - open to first-time travelers
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a dysrhythmia exam
* GE Apex Telemetry boxes with central telemetry monitoring supported by 2 Monitor Techs
* Common drips include Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and DKA set rate or protocol - RNs are not required to titrate drips
* Equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula - no ventilators
* Charting system: Cerner EMR
* Self-scheduling by seniority with schedules made approximately 3 weeks in advance - shift trades available, no block scheduling
* 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
* Scrub color: Navy
* BSN not required
* Unit is typically at full capacity - must be self-motivated and team oriented with a focus on patient experience, HCAHPS, and core measures including stroke measures
