Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

* 2.5 years of acute care experience required
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays as needed (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years)
* Patient population includes adolescents, infants, and pediatrics
* Patient ratios: PICU 1:1-2; ratios will vary based on unit, census, patient acuity, and staffing
* Must float within skillset to all PICU, NICU, Peds, Stepdown, Intermediate units, and Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic (PHOC) as needed
* Units include PICU, Pediatric Stepdown, and Pediatrics including intermediate care and med/surg mix
* EPIC charting experience required
* Clinical skills required: ventilator management, CVVH, vaccine administration, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; NIHSS preferred
* Active NJ or Compact license required
* Dress code: Peds-friendly top with navy blue bottoms
* First-time travelers accepted
* Locals accepted

Facility:

This leading academic pediatric facility features a 20-bed high-acuity PICU that provides 24/7 care for critically ill infants through young adults. The unit manages complex medical and surgical cases including congenital heart disease, post-operative cardiothoracic patients, respiratory failure, sepsis, and trauma. The facility maintains continuous on-site pediatric intensivist coverage and a multidisciplinary care team, and is part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system.
