Job Details:

* Night shift position with 12-hour shifts
* Minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
* Holiday requirements apply
* Call or standby requirement determined by Nurse Manager
* Floating within Zone 4 possible in cases of extreme need, as determined by Nurse Manager
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
* Treat 30+ patients per day in the emergency department
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
* Manage common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
* Work with respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
* Lab draws shared between RNs and phlebotomy
* Must have NIHSS and TNCC skills and experience
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC
* BSN not required
* Valid state license required prior to submission
* Must be within 60-mile radius; driver's license must be submitted
* Must be in state for week of orientation, even if first day modules are remote

Facility:

This acute care emergency department operates as a Level III Trauma Center, STEMI Receiving facility, and Stroke Center. The emergency department features 15 beds and 2 trauma bays, a dedicated triage area, separate psychiatric and seclusion rooms, and 24/7 in-house security housed within the emergency department. The facility utilizes EPIC for charting and supports a collaborative care team including charge nurses, nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters.
